DTI Laguna supports Bangkero Festival in Pagsanjan

The Department of Trade and Industry Laguna Provincial Office (DTI Laguna) through Negosyo Center Pagsanjan in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Pagsanjan (LGU Pagsanjan) launched the Bangkero Festival 2023 Bazaar last April 27, 2023.

The bazaar was organized at CLA Mall Event Grounds located in Pagsanjan, Laguna, and featured approximately 10 to 15 homegrown micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This activity was intended to promote local products in the said municipality as well as those from the neighboring towns within the 4th District of Laguna, coinciding the Pagsanjan’s annual celebration of Bangkero Festival which was held from April 27 to 30, 2023.

Appended to the event was a ceremonial signing of the Deed of Donation for the proposed 500 sqm lot to be donated by LGU Pagsanjan to DTI Laguna as a location for its new Provincial Office.

Among who attended in the Bazaar launching and ceremonial signing were Officer-in-Charge Christian Ted Tungohan and Trade-Industry Development Specialists Grace Del Carmen and Klyde Joy Bruno from DTI Laguna together with Hon. Mayor Cesar Areza, Municipal Administrator Cezar Gabriel Areza, Municipal Treasury Officer Minerva Boongaling, other Department Heads and Sangguniang Bayan Members from LGU Pagsanjan.

In addition to this, a series of capability building seminars on financial literacy and consumer education, as well as orientation on financial loan programs offered by the Small Business Corporation (an attached agency of DTI) and skills training on floral arrangement, were also carried through on the following day, April 28, 2023. Negosyo Center Business Counsellors Andrea Mae Macuha and Danica Briones from DTI Laguna discussed the abovementioned topics. Ms. Rona Angulo of Small Business Corporation then provided the participants with briefer on the financial loan program and the team from the Laguna Provincial Special Livelihood Office led by Ms. Fe Bonduc conducted the skills training.

The capacity building activities were attended by potential and existing MSMEs, members of the Municipal Cooperative Council of LGU Pagsanjan, and youthpreneurs from Paete Science and Business College.
